What is the age range for kids at the camp?
Our summer camp in Italy is designed for kids between the ages of 9 and 15. We focus on training that is both fun and educational, ensuring that every camper, regardless of age, has a great experience.
What are the qualifications of the instructors?
We have top-qualified tennis, squash, and padel coaches, who have extensive experience, including with juniors, and a proven track record of success.
How many tennis, squash, and padel courts are available?
Oltremare Racquet Camp has access to 9 tennis courts (5 red clay, 4 hard courts), 7 squash courts, and 3 padel courts.
What does a typical day look like at the camp?
A typical day at Oltremare Racquet Camp begins with 90 minutes of tennis, followed by a 30-minute break, and then 90 minutes of padel in the morning. Lunch is served at the hotel before a 60-minute Italian language course in the early afternoon. The training continues with 90 minutes of squash, leading into beach activities to unwind. The day concludes with dinner and a relaxing group activity in the evening. We will also take half-day side trips to Florence, San Marino, Gradara, and Aquafan — Europe’s largest water park.
How are the kids supervised during the camp?
At Oltremare Racquet Camp, children will be supervised 24/7 by our staff members, ensuring the campers’ safety and well-being at all times.
Do kids need to bring their own tennis/padel/squash rackets?
Our camp will provide all necessary equipment for campers, including racquets and goggles for squash.
Are meals and snacks included in the camp fee?
All meals, snacks, and beverages are included in the cost of the camp at Oltremare Racquet Camp.
How do parents receive updates about their child?
Oltremare Racquet Camp is device-free, except for 30 minutes after dinner when parents can check in with their children. This is 8:00 PM CET (2:00 PM EST). This said, you can contact our Camp Director Simone Rocca at any time. We have this policy in order to foster connection between campers as well as full appreciation of all that Italy has to offer.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Yes. If you cancel your registration more than 90 days before the start of camp on July 6th, 2025, you will receive a full refund minus the non-refundable deposit. If you cancel 90 days before the start of camp, you will receive a 75% refund of the total camp fee. If you cancel 60 days before the start of camp, you will receive a 50% refund of the total camp fee. If you cancel less than 30 days before the start of camp, you will not receive a refund.

Is the camp suitable for beginners?
Oltremare Racquet Camp is suitable for racket sports players (aged 9 to 15) of all levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Do the instructors have experience working with children?
Our founder and owner, Walter Giacometti, has taught tennis to people of all ages. In 2011, he founded Tiger Tennis Academy, turning it into New York’s #1 beginner tennis program for children aged 4 to 14. While he thinks it’s important to develop coordination skills and technique, he believes that it’s even more important at an early age to have FUN. This gives a child the best chance of succeeding at the game.
Our camp director, Simone Rocca, has extensive experience coaching juniors in squash. He holds the top Italian coaching certification and served as head coach of the Italian Junior National Team from 2007 to 2011. Before that, he was head coach of top junior players in Prague. Known for his innovative teaching techniques for beginners, Simone is particularly effective at imparting his champion mindset to his more advanced students. He has a passion for squash and especially loves working with juniors. With SquashRx, Simone successfully led summer squash camps for kids aged 10 to 14 in Riccione, Italy, and Porto, Portugal (2021 and 2022). In addition to squash training and international competitions, the campers participated in cultural and recreational activities. Seven years prior to that, Simone led the TOG summer camp for kids in Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands, which included squash instruction and tournament play.
Are the courts indoor, outdoor, or both?
Oltremare Racquet Camp has access to 9 outdoor tennis courts (5 red clay, 4 hard courts), 7 indoor squash courts, and 3 outdoor padel courts.
How much time is spent on the court each day?
A typical day at Oltremare Racquet Camp includes 90 minutes of tennis, 90 minutes of padel, and 90 minutes of squash, for a total time on court of four-and-a-half hours per day.
Are background checks conducted on staff members?
The coaches at Oltremare Racquet Camp are all personally known to the camp founder Walter Giacometti and camp director Simone Rocca.
Is rental equipment available?
We will provide all necessary sports equipment for campers, including racquets and goggles for squash.
Can the camp accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. We have accommodated dietary restrictions in the past and will do so again.
Is there an orientation session for parents?
While we are not scheduling a group orientation session, we conduct in-depth conversations with parents before the start of camp. We are very thorough and cover just about everything! We want to address any and all questions that parents may have.
